The South Carolina Heart Gallery is one of many similar projects inspired by Diane Granito of the New Mexico Youth and Families Department. Local and national media coverage regarding the success of the first Heart Gallery in March 2001 has resulted in the creation of over 100 Heart Galleries in 48 states.
